The Last Day of Supper

28 Mar

What did you have for dinner? We had enchiladas (they were good too)–but enchiladas is not what comes to mind when you ask us what our last supper would be. So that’s it, the question is simple-

What would your Last Supper be? An innocent conversation somehow turned completely chubby and we decided that one final meal was  not enough and we needed an entire day to fulfill our fat food fantasies.

Choose your own adventure.

JP:

BREAKFAST: I want an omelete, with green things and some bacon– with a little bit of cheese on top. Oh, and then I want maple pork sausage-links not patties. I need a biscuit ( I do believe that a  biscuit is in everyones perfect breakfast) And some fruit. (CB Note: Oh, now she wants some fruit)

The perfect bisquit

LUNCH: Lunch is simple, it’s so simple, yet it’s IMPOSSIBLE to find in Washington, DC. A New York deli turkey club sandwich. It’s the most delicious thing you have ever tasted. I think thats all I want. Yep, thats lunch.

DINNER: None other than the chicken finger. I have had a chicken finger in Atlanta.  I have had a chicken finger in Denver. I even have had a chicken finger in Australia!  I love chicken fingers. I want two types (1) the tradition chicken fingers, with honey mustard and barbecue sauce ( thank you) and (2) spicy buffalo chicken tenders, with a side of the blue cheese (please and thank you). And Isckabible’s fries ( from Philadelphia) with a couple of ketchup packets.

DESSERT: This dessert is an original, Key Lime Cheesecake. With no crust, just the cheesecake.  And then… a float. And not any regular float- like no coke, no root beer. Just orange sherbert and sprite, there is nothing else to say.

CB:

BREAKFAST: My champion breakfast would be Jimmy Dean hot sausage patties. Scrambled eggs with cheese, home fries (A little burned) with ketchup. Three pieces of wheat toast with strawberry jelly (strawberry preferred).  Fried apples and a mimosa. (JP note: When did drinks get added?)

LUNCH: There’s a place in Pittsburgh called Tessaro’s and they serve NY strip steaks with onions, blue cheese, mushrooms and 2 delicious pieces of bread. Homecut french fries with ketchup and malt vinegar mixed together- with an orange slice. The drink, not an actual orange slice.

DINNER: The mother of all the meals. I would like to have (JP Note: She tried to add an appetizer) seafood fondue from Pappadeaux’s Restaurant with the french bread and Crawfish Etouffee ( JP Note:  No. She just added an appetizer).

Seafood Fondue! (not an appetizer)

DESSERT: A slice of the triple tuxedo chocolate cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory- and then I die of cardiac arrest.

JP & CB Drink Pairings:

(CB & JP Note: After Carmen brought up mimosas, we decided we also wanted to have a last day of summer drink menu as well)

  • Breakfast: Mimosa
  • Lunch: Margarita w/salt rimmed glass
  • Dinner: Manhattan
  • Dessert: Mind Eraser. or Bailey’s with coffee (Decaf)

Mind Eraser: Don't forget the straw

This was a really invigorating conversation for us- it was freeing. If you’re feeling bored or low at work today, we think this is a pretty good conversation to have. Tell us your favorite Last Supper.
